RAINWATER COLLECTION SYSTEMS

A foundational part of our work, rainwater collection systems are reliable, cost-effective solutions that will support communities from the very beginning. These systems capture and store rainfall for daily use—providing safe water access where groundwater or drilling is not feasible.

Rainwater harvesting

Rainwater harvesting is a preferred solution for areas that receive significant annual rainfall. These projects are often large enough to harvest and safely store the water for use throughout the dry season. They’re also an ideal alternative for regions where safe groundwater and public water services are unavailable, unreliable, or too expensive to access.

Impact at a Glance

IMPACT: Clean, safe water for approximately 300–500 people

LIFESPAN: 20–50 years, with proper construction and maintenance

COST: Typically $1,000–$4,000 USD

All materials are sourced in Uganda and installed by our local team. Our rainwater collection projects are planned and delivered on a turnkey basis, providing clarity and confidence from start to finish.

A Look Inside Our Reporting

Transparency is central to how we work, and we believe sharing progress openly builds trust.

To support this, we work with mWater, a global water data platform used in more than 150 countries. This system allows project information to be collected, organized, and shared efficiently—from the field to our team and partners.

As projects move forward, data such as GPS locations, photos, survey information, and field observations can be documented and reviewed. This helps ensure decisions are informed, progress is visible, and water solutions are implemented responsibly.

As GiveWater grows, tools like this will continue to strengthen how we track work, learn from the field, and communicate impact clearly and consistently.
